I bought
Ascending Peculiarity : Edward Gorey a few years ago and only read a a few pages. Recently I picked it up again and it got me craving to read all his books. The 21 interviews from Ascending Peculiarity were conducted between 1973 and 1999 by a variety of people. They provide autobiographical perspectives on writer and illustrator
Edward Gorey (1925-2000). These conversations show how unfailingly charming, gracious, and fascinating this artistic genius was. Gorey wrote more than 100 books but most of them were published obscurely and are difficult to find. There are 4 omnibus editions which compiles most of these short books together and they are Amphigorey (1972), Amphigorey Too (1975), Amphigorey Also (1983) and Amphigorey Again (2006). These are the 4 books that I hope to get my hands on soon. You can read one of his books, Gashlycrumb Tinies, here:
